Communal RSS Reader Streamy Angel Funded

Streamy is one part Pageflakes + one part Digg. Users get their home page which is divided into topical sections but then via the wisdom of the Streamy crowds you get personalized recommendations on other stories and publications. The startup tells VentureItch - "We’ve been received well, and have attracted angel investors including Driftwood Investments (angel investor who was early at Pricegrabber). We have secured sufficient capital to survive year one."

Staying with RSS, Particls launched today out of private beta to interested but mixed reviews. The company behind Particls also indicates that it raised a round of angel funding from Australian backers (the two young founders are Ausies). One blogger points out that Particls shares similarities with PointCast in that it pushes alerts to you on a scroll that of course can be clicked on to expand. Although Read/Write gushes: "RSS and feeds will never be the same after today in my view, as the bar has been raised substantially by Particls."
