Greentech Media Funded To Cover Alt Energy Movement

greentech media.png
Greentech Media out of Cambridge, MA has raised $1M in Series A funding co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Northport Private Equity. The startup is led by Scott Clavenna, who for 6 years was Chief Analyst at Heavy Reading and Light Reading, which cover the networking industry and which were bought out by CMP last year. His co-founder is Rick Thompson, who was also at Heavy Reading.

They founded Greentech in January 2007 and has launched an interum site as well as market research on venture capital investments in green technologies. The company charges $850 on up to $4800 to subscriptions to the monthly report.

Per our post on Imperium Renewables IPO today, there is lot to cover here and not many are doing it well. Treehugger is an exception. So Greentech has a nice niche.
