Israel's Blog Rating Service OutBrain Gains Funding

outbrain.png
Founded in June 2006, Israel and now NYC-based Outbrain has raised funding for its blog rating service. Outbrain is not fully launched at this point, but they indicate that it will offer personalization or recommendations of blogs and RSS feeds tapping the collective wisdom of RSS readers. As you rate blog posts, you get a feed from Outbrain that should be tailored to your interests.

Outbrain says its business model will be based on advertising. LGiLab participated in this round with GlenRock, Sigma PCM and private investors.

Outbrain has impressive management. Its CEO and Co-founder is Yaron Galai Yaron, who was Co-Founder and SVP at online ad network Quigo. And its other co-founder, Ori Lahav, was head of R&D at shopping.com.
