Mojo Watch: Specific Media, The Bubble, Freemiums, Orbitz, Truemors

specific media 2.png

Mojo Found
+ VC-backed, Irvine-based behavioral ad network Specific Media won a huge year long ad deal with Ford.

+ The Bubble. 1999 wasn't such a bad year for tech startups after all. A business school study found that 48% of startups launched that year are still around.

+ The Freemium model has taken the enterprise software market by storm.

Mojo Lost
+ Gay Kawasaki's social network Truemors launched but was riven with spam and irrelevant comments (to be fair the ac knows the sink-hole of comment spam but we are not a social network that relies 100% on comments). Another reviewer complains about its snail pace.

+ Orbitz IPO has been savaged by a couple of influential sources.
