Carrier Ethernet's Xelerated Ventures Forth With $23M

Carrier ethernet seems to have finally caught fire. Santa Clara's Xelerated sells chips and an ethernet switch for Ethernet solutions for metro, access and high-end enterprise systems. Fujitsu and Huawei recently chose the company for its rollouts. Xelerated has raised $23M in fourth-round funding. Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund led the deal, and was joined by return backers Atlas Venture, Alta Partners, Accel Partners and Amadeus Capital Partners. The company competes with EZchip Technologies Bay Networks.
