Social Network Geek-out Firm Signal Match Angel Funded

signal match.png

Signal Match says it has raised funding by "industry executives." The startup is staffed by research scientists that are creating offerings around digital personality, social networking and web recommendation. It doesn't seem that they are planning to launch their own social network, rather they will sell their data and services to other social networks.

Signal match creates digital models that represent people's psychological and social traits, such as taste in music or sports. Research taps: statistical modeling, data mining, social psychology, and social network analysis.

The company is led by ex-IBM Research Engineer Ran Zelica who says he "lead the migration of the IBM Conversational Biometrics research code-base to a real-time, low latency, efficient, multi-threaded engine." Its founder is Avi Naor, who was an Amdocs founder. Signal Match has offices in Manhattan and Westchester.
