+Widget maker Clearspring has won a nice deal with NBC.
+Six Apart, the blog platform that powers the a:c among other site, has gone open source to compete with WordPress. We hope for our own sake that it works.
+ Online media pros. Jobs in online media --which we read as advertising - -were up 15% this year to 40K jobs. That doesn't seem like a big number to us but the gain is impressive.
Mojo Lost
+ Newly IPO'd BigBand Networks (Nasdaq: BBND) knocked Imagine Communications with a lawsuit alleging that the startup, which employs several ex-BigBand execs, has infringed on three patents covering advanced video processing.
+ Ticketmaster and its Evite subsidiary has threatened to sue competitor Socializr for copyright infringement. Socializr is a run by Friendster creator Jonathan Abrams who was also on the cover of Inc. Magazine this week looking like a dope for screwing up Friendster.
