Nielsen Buys Mobile Research Group Telephia

In the past 24 hours, Internet research group comScore had a monster IPO. That was coupled with what looks like a smaller deal in the research space whereby The Nielsen Co. has acquired Telephia, a San Francisco-based provider of consumer data and analysis to the telecom and mobile media markets. No financial terms were disclosed. Telephia has raised over $102M since it was founded in 1999. Investors include AEA Investors, Centennial Ventures, Oak Hill Venture Partners, The Megunticook Fund, Cedar Grove Investments and Prime New Ventures.

Menlo Park's Moblyng (aka Fliptrack) has raised $5.7M in 1st-round funding from Mohr Davidow Ventures and Deep Fork Capital. Moblyng has emerged from closed beta. It tools allow users to move media out of Slide and RockYou slide shows, YouTube videos and MySpace videos with one click.
