Podzinger Becomes EveryZing. Raises $10M

Cambridge, MA-based EveryZing has just just its brand from PodZinger. We get the logic - it didn't want to be viewed only as a podcasting company. Following in the recent footsteps of Technorati, which itself relaunched as a multi-media search engine, EveryZing is now a multimedia search and advertising platform. However, a comparison of the two sites shows that EveryZing is really focussed on video whereas Technorati still is primarily a blog/live Web tool. That would make EveryZing more in the camp of a search tool like Blinkx.
EveryZing is well behind Technorati, which yesterday revealed that it had 9M unique visitors in March, up from 3.5M uniques in January.
Everyzing also raised $10M in Series B funding. Fairhaven Capital led the deal, and was joined by return backers Accel Partners and General Catalyst Partners.
