Going.com Gains More Funding Having Grown 12x In 6 Months

City-based social network Going.com has raised $5M in additional funding to expand into more cities. It currently operates in n four cities: Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco. The round was led by Highland Capital Partners.

Going.com centers around the theme of 20somethings who are trying to figure out what to do with their evenings. Like most everyone else it has a Facebook widget. The business says it now has 500K members.

On the advertising side, the local angle, together with the notion that users are getting ready to go out and spend money, should work well.
