Qualcomm Anoints Novarra With $50M Round
We just posted on ActionEngines funding round and along comes Novarra, a competitor which has closed a $50M round. Like ActionEngine, Novarra is spinning the story that even though they compete with iPhone to a certain extent, they benefit from the mobilization of wireless multimedia that iPhone has spurred.
Novarra has developed expertise in converting web pages to mobile pages. It biggest deals are with Vodaphone in the UK and Yahoo which picked Novarra to power one of its mobile platforms just last week.
Novarra's latest funding is a big one at $50M and comes from its prior investors and comes with a strategic invesment from Qualcomm.
