Save Test Preparation Money For Business School By Attending Grockit

grockit.png
Distance learning is getting a swagger. Today we saw a lengthy CNBC or CNN story about VistaTutor, a startup that we have covered here. We expect that Grockit, a San Francisco-based online test prep school, will also get a lot of coverage as it has a media friendly story line. Grockit has secured $2.3M of a $2.7M Series A round, says PEHub.

Grockit founder Farbood Nivi has been teaching exam prep for Kaplan since 1998, and was named Teacher of the Year by The Princeton Review in 2002. Grockit sells a cheaper alternative for test takers, who are taught via WebEx.

Grockit is selling 16 90-minute sessions plus with official GMAT review text books thrown in for $399. Kaplan online costs $1,249 and The Princeton Review is $899. Grockit also throws in some headphones.
