Travel Search Site cFares Raises First Round

cfares.png
Redwood Shores-based cFares has raised a first round of funding from Claremont Creek Ventures. It had raised seed funding from Garage Ventures.

The best thing that cFares does, to our mind, is to allow a 24 hour hold on tickets. We like HotWire but don't appreciate the pressure you get to act now.

The other compelling feature from cFares is that it provides access to wholesaler fares. We have never understood why other sites don't give access to such fares. The cost is that cFares charges a $50 subscription fee to get access to the wholesaler discounts. If you travel a fair amount, you will likely recoup that $50 quickly.
