Content Personalization Widget Maker Minekey Raises First $3M

Sunnyvale, CA-based Minekey has raised $3M in Series A for their personalized news recommendation widget. The funding round was led by led by NEA IndoUS Ventures, which had previously invested $600K in a seed round.

Minekey takes advantage of progress in content personalization algorithms to bring that to the long tail. So some a:c readers might really only be interested in our European or wireless stories and they reveal that bias through their clicks. A Minkey widget will flag new stories of interest as they visit the site.

We think Minekey will do very well. It reminds us a bit of Mybloglog as its a widget that we can see the blogosphere embracing to add personal touches to their sites while also benefiting from a system that follows Minekey users as they travel from site to site.
