Xconomy Raises First Round—"Founders Swear Staff Will Be Paid"

xconomy.png
We like the style of Cambridge, MA's Xconomy as they close their first round as they punctuate the announcement:

“Quick, the bank closes at 5:30.”

“Did anybody actually count the money yet?”

“Now can I have a drink?”

Xconomy describes itself as "a grass roots business and technology blog and news portlet." The site plans to focus on the nexus of technology, venture capital, business, and university research in the Boston area. CommonAngels led the Series A round, although they did not disclose the amount. Founder Robert Buderi was the Editor-in-Chief of MIT’s Technology Review and he has brought with him other staffers including former editor Wade Roush.
