Carl Icahn's Son To Launch Hollywood Game Changer Massify

massify.png
NYC-based Massify is a pre-launch and behind schedule social network/film production tool that brings film creatives and movie fans together to make movies. They want to solve the age old issue where Hollywood film makers seclude themselves for years to make a film and then do advance screens only to find that the audience wants to throw rotten tomatoes at the screen. No doubt this is a problem, but given how much money Hollywood throws at this process every year, it's pretty ballsy for a couple of young guys who are not from Hollywood to think they can nail it.

The company says they have raised VC funding (no details at this time but we assume its from Icahn Partners). The company's founders set to work in April 2006. They are Kenneth Woo and Brett Icahn. Icahn is the son of king of the biz universe Carl Icahn. In 2001, Brett Icahn founded games startup Myelin Media, which is owned by Carl Icahn. Brett Icahn is also an investment analyst for Icahn Partners. Brett is on the board of heavily funded wireless business Motricity which Icahn owns a large hunk of.
