Deca.tv Launches Hollywood Studio For Digital Media

deca.png
Pre-launch Deca.tv is a high concept startup that casts itself as a Hollywood studio for online properties. It wants to green-light, market and distribute digital entertainment properties. No projects have yet been announced but we view Deca as going out and creating the kind of site that Will Ferrell launched or finding viral stars and signing them for follow-ups.

Santa Monica -based Deca.tv has raised $5M in a first round from Mayfield Fund, General Catalyst Partners and Atomico Investments.

CEO Michael Wayne was VP, BD for Yahoo! Music/Launch Media and more recently was VP Strategic Alliances for Sony Pictures Digital and then Sony Pictures Television.
