Imagini Gets 4M+ Users & VC Backing

As our sister site a:c euro ha noted Imagini.net has beta-launched its social network and says it has already attracted over 4M +registered users. The social networking twist with Imagini is that it allows users to find relevant people, places and things using photos and images only - there are no forms or written profiles. Backers include Atomico, TAG and Northzone. Alex Willcock is the CEO & founder.

Imagini reminds us a bit of Tickle as it uses the personality test lure to attract users. But, again there is not typing required. It also relies on Myspace pages to spread the word. Imagini has also run a couple of partner tests with both MSN and Nectar. It has also launched a gift suggester feature where someone who wants to give a gift can get visual feedback on what the person really wants.

We were prepared to dismiss Imagini as yet another social network splinter cell but we have to give them full credit for thinking on their own and making networking much easier on us.
