Intel Reaps Havok For $100M

Intel will pay $100M for game technology maker Havok. The startup was founded in 1998 in Dublin, Ireland. Havok sells middleware and interactive animation software and services for digital media creators in the games and movie industries.

Havok's physics tools have been used on games such as "BioShock," "Halo 2" and "Half Life 2" and movies including "The Matrix," "Troy" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Trinity Venture Capital sold its stake to Intel for $21M of the $100M total.
