Oracle Buys Compliance's LocalApps

Oracle is acquiring LogicalApps, which focuses on governance, risk and compliance management. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. LogicalApps is based in Irvine and backed by Mission Ventures and Sequoia Capital. Oracle doesn't have the reputation on regulatory compliance enjoyed by SAP so this is a move to catch up. Some observers have noted that it represents a new M&A strategy by Oracle where is is buying its way into verticals. Previously it had bought clients.
