MerchantCircle Closes $12M Round For Local Net Marketing
MerchantCircle has raised $10M Series B from previous investors Rustic Canyon, Scale Venture, Steamboat Ventures, and new firms IAC and Square 1 Bank.
The funding validates MerchantCircle success at drawing more than 250K local merchants since launching in 2006. Los Altos based MerchantCircle sells its customers a a platfrorm that includes a landing page, applications for blogging and an email newsletter, buzz tracking tools, electronic coupons, and work on your search engine placement. It charges $29 per month minimum on up to $99 for a package that gets you Google ads. MerchantCircle has gained traction through the tried and true affiliate program (via Commission Junction).
