Jewelry's Ice.com Raises Another $47M

ice.com.png
With the $100M+ buyout of BodyBuilding.com, it should come as no surprise that investors would put $47M into another successful vertical eCommerce site - Ice.com. The Montreal, Canada-based startup's 2007 web sales were up 70% and came in around $83.4M.

Ice.com is a jewelry eCommerce site (it bought Diamond.com last year.) The company is run by the brothers Gniwisch - Shmuel, Mayer and Pinny. Ice.com raised the $47M from Polaris Venture Partners. The new capital comes on top of the $12.5M investment the company received from Ignition two years ago.

Holiday season sales were up 60% and average order value up 25% on Ice.com and 21% Diamond.com.
