Kid Browser KidZui Wins Funding

kidzui.png
Clifford Boro has done well as Chairman. He currently chairs VideoEgg and previously chaired Msnap and Infogate. Now he is chair of Seattle-based KidZui which has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Emergence Capital Partners, First Round Capital and Maveron.

KidZui is targeting kids aged 3-11. It does not create new content but rather employs a staff of screeners who find sites that they deem kid-friendly and then allow that content to be pulled into KidZui. To date they have approved 500K sites and videos. Kids view this through a browser, desktop and tools.

The service is free so its not yet clear what will be the business model - either ads or premiums is our assumption.
