Classy Porn Site Zivity Raises $7M

zivity.png
San Francisco-based Zivity has closed a Series B round at $7M from BlueRun Ventures and Founders Fund. Zivity's founder Scott Banister is looking to set the company apart by going without advertising (it plans to charge members $10 per month - it's in beta now). He argues that he's trail-blazing the future of ad-free social networking. The truth is that no advertisers would pay real coin to advertise on Zivity. You can get help from an ad network like Adbrite to get some ads for sites with nudity but the payouts are terrible. So going to the paid content model might be smart but we don't believe in Banister's spin that the future of social networks is ad-free.

Our take is that Zivity may well be a kock-out, but so far the girls in the photos need to be a notch hotter. If the Hooters waitresses are more interesting than that girls on your site you know you have a problem.
