CriticalPath Ditches Supernews

supernews.png
A buddy once worked at Supernews and saw that starups fortunes rise after it was bought by Critical Path, only to see his fortunes dwindle after CP came apart. Today CP announced that it was selling SuperNews after all these years to GigaMedia for an undisclosed amount. Supernews aggreagated Usenet content - it is the open discussion board system created in 1979 for community on the Internet. But with web-based message boards and other discussion forums Usenet has fallen by the wayside. We don't imagine there is too much value here but Supernews is a cool domain.
