IndieGoGo Making VC Rounds For Film-makers' SocNet

Berkeley-based IndieGoGo has launched a social marketplace connecting filmmakers and fans to make independent film happen. IndieGoGo.com gives filmmakers the tools for project funding, recruiting, and promotion, while enabling the visitors to discover and connect with the filmmakers. The startup's slogan is to bring "Filmocracy" to the people.

IndieGoGo.com was launched this year at Sundance and the next step it so move it out with Facebook and OpenSocial applications.

IndieGoGo was founded by a trio of biz school students: Danae Ringelmann, Eric Schell and Slava Rubin. They have raised angel funding and are currently talking with VCs to do a Series A round.
