Nielsen Pays $225M For Rival IAG Research

iag.png
The Nielsen Company is paying $225M for NYC-based IAG
Research. Like Nielsen, IAG measures consumer engagement with television programs, national commercials and product placements. Founded in 2000, IAG says it had over $35M in annual revenue
plus positive operating income in 2007.

It's not right to categorize this as a tech play, it's more of a quantative shop that seeks to makes sense of the fuzzy math put out by Nielsen and others. As the Web continues to take market share from TV this would seem like a good moment for IAG to sell.

Bessemer Venture Partners
, Lexington Ventures and others have backed IAG.
