Alerts.com Lands Sweet URL. Founder Inserts $1.2M First Funding

alerts.com.png
Bellevue, WA-based Alerts.com has raised $1.2M in financing from Monster Venture Partners plus angel investors.

The concept is for cave-men. Any simpleton can set up alerts to let them know about about changes to sports scores, flight plans, stocks, etc. The techology back-bone is simple - they just use RSS. There are very popular sites out there like BirthdayAlarm.com which provide niche alerts. Alerts.com wants to bring all of these alerts into one roof. Makes sense to us.

How to make money? Just get traffic and insert ads. Again, a cave-man could do it.

Alerts.com was co-founded by investor Rob Monster who has a sweet tooth for nice URLs. He is a partner in a domain group and also started Patents.com.
