Hustling Rafat Ali's ContentNext Bought By UK's Guardian

contentnext.png
Today Guardian Media has bought ContentNext, its flagship site PaidContent and its lucrative events. The Whisper number is that Guardian paid $30M+

We have been reading PaidContent for years, have met Rafat Ali and of course respect what he has pulled off. Ali just might become the new prototype of media mogul. The old media mogul template might be Rupert Murdoch, William Randolph Hearst, etc. These are and were pure businessmen who make media their oil wells. Ali is a blend of businessman, blogger and conference slut. The biggest scoops and best stories on his network continue to come from Ali. You cannot separate Ali from his sites at this point, whereas someone like Murdoch could buy and sell his properties at ease. Ali got his pay day we believe because he won't let others work harder than him. We are not saying that Ali has achieved mogul status, but this is how it starts these days.
