Social Games' Zynga Buys YoVille; Raises $29M

Last year we started to see some social games mini-events that were amateurish but well attended. It was a good omen for what was to come. Today San Francisco-based Zynga announced that it had raised $29M and had bought YoVille.
The round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers along with Institutional Venture Partners. Previous investors Union Square Ventures, Foundry Group and Avalon Ventures were also back. Zynga had raised $10M in a prior round.
Zynga also added to is board with former co-founder and chief creative officer of Electronic Arts, Bing Gordon, who joins LinkedIn’s chairman Reid Hoffman, Foundry Group’s Brad Feld and Zynga’s CEO Mark Pincus.
Zynga says it gets 18M monthly visitors and makes a living through ads and selling customers add-ons to the games. Like Slide it created an ad network for installs.

Wow good for them, I've enjoyed that game in the past and it's definitely one of my favorite facebook apps. I wonder how much Zynga will begin to charge users?
