AOL Buys Boulder's SocialThing

We are in beautiful Boulder, CO today or the AdMonsters event - there's also a TechStars event going on too. As it happens there is relevant news out of Boulder today. After some rumors to this affect, AOL says that is is buying SocialThing. No financial terms were disclosed. SocialThing raised around $500K in seed funding last year from EonBusiness and angel investors.

Socialthing is a web application firm that developed a digital lifestyle aggregation app. The idea is that it helps you to aggregate Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. The startup is led by CEO, founder and Web designer Matt Galligan. Socialthing competes with the likes of FriendFeed and gets good marks against its rivals.
