Down Unda's Aconex Raises $85M For Construction Software

A buddy who build hospitals and hotels recently asked if we new of any hot new software for the construction racket. We had not come across Aconex but the Australian startup has just closed an massive $85 round from Francisco Partners.

Their business could not be more straight-forward: document management, Web collaboration, and project management for construction. They plan to plow the cash into hiring 50 engineers as well as perhaps buying a smaller company or two.
