Paris Hilton's Producer To Launch MyHollywood With $5M In Funding

Hollywood Interactive Group has raised $5M in a Series A from BlueRun Ventures. The startup says the funding will go to develop MyHollywood.com, a web site for women focused on celebrity and entertainment news, fashion, casual games, community and a massively multiplayer online game called the "Red Carpet Game" focused on a "virtual Hollywood."

The LA based start-up targets "entertainment news hungry" 25-45 y/o female. Hollywood Interactive Group. Bucking the trend, the startup is very specific about its business model. HIG "will generate revenue through multiple streams including: Virtual item and premium package sales; pre-paid cards; premium brand placement/integration; traditional IAB ad units and pre-roll video; and revenue shares. Strategic partnerships will drive e-commerce, branded promotions, product placement, user engagement and retention campaigns."

CEO Joey Carson was the CEO of Bunim Murray productions which brought us the reality shows “The Real World” and “The Simple Life”.
