SolarReserve Raises $140M To Build Its Towers

solar reserve.png
Santa Monica's SolarReserve has easily the coolest Web site of any alt energy startup that we have crossed and its equipment is impressive looking to boot. That doesn't mean its energy tech is the best of course but perhaps it does indicate that they can market solar tech better than the other guy.

SolarReserve, a developer of utility-scale renewable energy solar power plants, has raised $140M in 2nd-round funding. Good Energies and Citi’s Sustainable Development Investments led the round with US Renewables Group, PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund, Nimes Capital and Credit Suisse.

The startup calls itself "the market leader in molten salt power tower solar technology developed by Hamilton Sundstrand Rocketdyne, a division of United Technologies Corporation."
