SocNet Ad Network AppSavvy Raises $3.1M - Needs A New Web Site

appsavey.png
NYC-based Appsavvy has secured $3.1M in Series A funding led by TRUE Ventures. About.com's Scott Kurnit also invested.

Look Lookery, Social Media, and others. Appsavvy sells ads on Facebook applications. The firm says it represents 15 of the top 25 application companies, including Playfish, SGN [Social Gaming Network], Flixster, Bantr, and 42 Friends.

Appsavvy is led by CEO Chris Cunningham who was VP Global Sales at Freewebs.com and SVP of Sales at Bolt Media.

Apologies to the Appsavvy crew for the dig on our headline - they need a new Web site. But it amateurish site shows highlights to us how this business is moving fast and that it is being driven more about first movers and relationships with advertisers than it is about marketing and messaging. That will change soon.
