dotblu.png
San Francisco's DotBlu (fka blubet) has raised $2M in Series A from Maples Investments and DE Shaw. The site has online games, like prediction questions, quizzes and online flash games where members compete.

The startup has created some controversy for its aggressive programs to gain traffic. Explains one victim:
"You get an email from someone you know, with a message that wants you to sign up to log in to get the message, as soon as you do that all of your yahoo, google etc webmail addresses are harvested...and the same message is sent to them from you."

The startup was founded by Song Kim who was founder/CEO at file sharing's Exaroom.
