Chinese Version of Classmates.com, TongXue.com, Raises $6M
Formerly known as FaceRen.com and launched at Harvard University TongXue is a community website for elite Chinese students on overseas study. The site claims more than 10M registered members. The company plans to launch a new core product “Classmate” or "Alumni" within the year.
TongXue.com has raised $6M VC multiple VC investors including Tano China Private Equity Fund. Tano Capital is an alternative asset management firm founded by Chuck Johnson (formerly co-President of FranklinTempleton Investments and CEO of Templeton Worldwide), that makes private equity investments into private companies in India and China.
