VeriVue Picks up $40M For Video On Demand

verivue logo.png
Westwood, MA-based VeriVue has raised $40M in Series B led by Comcast Interactive Capital with Accel Partners, Arris Group, North Bridge Venture Partners, Matrix Partners and Spark Capital. The company previously raised $25M.

VeriVue geeks out with descriptions of its blade server concept, but we find its more interesting to think what it means for the end user. A cable company like Comcast can deploy video on demand via the cable as well as over the Net. That means that you get YouTube and viral videos on your TV and feature length films on your laptop.

The product, which should be available in the second quarter. VeriVue was founded two years ago by Jim Dolce, former EVP of worldwide field operations for Juniper, and Rubin Gruber, founder and chairman of Sonus.
