Fancy Trousers Maker Bonobos Raises $3M From Angels

bonobos.png
NYC-based Bonobos has raised a 2nd round at $3M in angel funding at a $15 million pre-money valuation. Angel backers include Sandwith Ventures. One of the Stubhub founders Colin Evans joined the board.

What the company does that is different is a) sells just pants (although it plans to jump into shorts, swimsuits, and polo shirts next. b) sells online only and c) says its pants fit better.

Since launching in October 2007, Bonobos says it has 8,000 customers and sold more than 20,000 pairs of trousers. In 2008, the company’s first full year, Bonobos did $1.6M in net revenue and got to breakeven. This March, the company says it saw its largest revenue month ever, finishing the first quarter of 2009 up 4.3x over the first quarter of the previous year.

CEO and founder Andy Dunn launched the firm after graduating from Stanford Business.
