IAC's Match.com Pays $80M For Niche Dating Big People Media

It was only a matter of time before Match.com or a rival bought People Media. Too bad for People Media they were not able to make this happen earlier as we have to imagine they would have sold for well over $100M. IAC's Match.com says it will pay $80M in cash for People Media.
People Media has grown nicely, thanks in part to deals where it powered the likes of AOL Personals.
People Media was founded in 2002 and now runs 27 dating sites with a combined 255K paying subscribers. Its biggest sites are BlackPeopleMeet.com, BBPeopleMeet.com, LDSPlanet.com, SingleParentMeet.com and SeniorPeopleMeet.com. The company says it did $11.6M in EBIDTA in 2008. People Media was owned by PE firm American Capital.
People Media is led by CEO Josh Myers who was GM, Yahoo Publisher Network & GM Domain Match.
