Clicker Raises $8M For Video Search Engine

Jim Lanzone who resigned as CEO of Ask.com 2 years ago is now CEO of LA-based Clicker.com. The startup is looking to index and search online TV content. It has raised $8M in funding from Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures. Clicker wants to index all of the movies, TV shows and other video content available online and arrange it by network, genre and show name.
Lanzone joins Elizabeth Carrasco, who was VP of engineering at Spotrunner.
The startup launched at TechCrunch50 so is getting some buzz. We are not impressed with the project. We really don't care how cool the technology might be. Given the poor CPMs in entertainment, this site will have to become massive for them to make a living.
