Real Time Search's Scoopler Funded
Real-time search engine Scoopler has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Ron Conway, Michael Birch, Avalon Ventures and XG-Ventures. The startup was co-founded in January 2008 by AJ Asver who previously founded GroupSpaces.com and Dilan Jayawardane who was an Oracle engineer.
It does seem odd to us that neither Google nor Bing nor other large tech companies have real time search and that companies like Scoopler have a window where if you want to find out what is going on live on the Web you have to search Twitter or Scoopler. We suspect that part of the problem is that marketing real-time search to the public is a bit of a challenge.
For investors, we think real time search can be a good deal as there are any number of potential buyers of real time search engines.
