TV Yidiots at Yidio Raise $500K

San Diego-based Yidio has raised around $500K in angel funding. Yidio is a TV show aggregation site for watching TV shows and movies online. Launched a little over a year, Yidio.com claims over 4M unique visits a month.
Yidio was founded by Adam Eatros. Prior to founding Yidio, Eatros was the Co-Founder and President of SportSnipe.com, a sports news site that aggregates sports news from around the world.
It's great that the site has taken in that much traffic in so short a time but the hard truth is that TV and movie content does not monetize for crap. Sure general purpose video sites where bought for a nice sum 2 years ago but there are no longer buyers for these sites willing to pay anything like, for example, the multiple that Google paid for YouTube.
BTW - a somewhat comparable site to Yido called Clicker launched today. LA-based Clicker provides an online programming guide to Internet TV. Clicker is backed by Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures and is headed by Jim Lanzone, former CEO of Ask.com.

Thanks for posting -- I am investor in the company. We're actually monetizing well with pretty high RPMs (and I've run everything from small web sites to Yahoo News -- so I have some context here.
The company is profitable.
The key to all these businesses is massive scale and these guys are on their way.
