Mort Zuckerman's New York Daily News Invests In Content Aggregator Loud3r

The New York Daily News has invested an undisclosed amount in content aggregation's Loud3r.

Loud3r was founded in August 2007 by former Yahoo UI guy Lowell Goss. His operation is pretty lean, with just3 engineers and 2 editors on staff. They started out building owned and operated sites but learned that it takes two long to ramp traffic when you start a site from scratch and you don't even have a good URL. Loud3r O&O sites include Camcord3r.

Loud3r then partnered with domain name aggregator Name Media and now powers URLs like MountainBiking.com. Name Media was an investor in Loud3r's prior round. The template is similar to a blog with post after post aggregated from other sites and every few posts you see a sponsored post which links to Shopping.com. They also aggregate tweets. The experience is OK, not great. But for a site like MountainBiking.com this is a cheap, easy way to keep their site fresh.
