Zulily Shopping Club For Kids Raises $4.6M

Zulily has raised $4.6M in new VC funding led by Maveron. The startup which plans to launch in 1Q10 is a riff on online discount shopping clubs like Gilt which currently caters to women. Zulily's plan is to focus on items for kids.
The site has the standard approach here of offering people 'membership' in the club, but membership is free so its really a marketing gimmick. We had indicated in a prior post about another funding for an online discount shopping club that the secret is well out of the bag here and that we expect to see a flood of new players as there are few barriers to entry.
Zulily was founded by former Blue Nile exec Darrell Cavens and his co-founder is Mark Vadon, who is currently Chairman of Blue Nile.
