Mapazine CultureMap Raises First Funding
Houston-based CultureMap has raised a first round. The Web site covers food, fashion, society and the arts and features maps. mount and source of the funding was not disclosed. The site only covers Houston but we have to that they will broaden to other locals.
The site is staffed by Houston Chronicle refugees and they have done a good job. We have to think that Houston is actually a good starting point as, unlike a city like New York or LA there is not much competition. We also note that they have launched an iPhone app.
